Location scouting a family photography session

A couple of weeks ago Toby and I headed to the south coast. We were in search of a New England style beach backdrop for an upcoming family session ( I can’t wait!!). I knew the dunes at the Witterings would be a good bet. I have many fantastic memories from trips their over the years as a child with my parents and with my own family.

We trundled down for a bit of an explore in readiness for the shoot. We found a lovely coffee shop and ordered some scones and hot drinks before we set off. It turns out their cosy interior has a New England style (result!) so will recommend we visit on shoot day for refreshments!

It’s a gorgeous location for a walk and a lovely setting for capturing family portraits. The dunes and beach area will be perfect and my fingers and toes will be firmly crossed that the weather plays ball on the day!

After about 10 minutes at the dunes we got caught out in a heavy down pour, whoops. The angry looking clouds and distant rumbles of thunder finally caught up with us. Toby was well protected for the inclement weather, but my hoodless light summer jacket seemed to soak up the rain!

Running in the rain turns out to be quite a fun experience and we had a good giggle about it on our walk back to the car :)

Michelle White - Oh what gorgeous pictures! It looks like a place we used to visit as children & has brought back lots of happy memories including sandy jam sandwiches
